China adopted on 04/24/2015, earlier than expected, its Food Safety Law, which should come into force on 10/01/2015. The European Commission has managed to ensure that the latest version incorporates certain improvements, but problems remain, such as the prohibition of subcontracting in the production of powdered milk for infants. The Commission welcomes comments sent to trade-sps@ec.europa.eu and provides an unofficial English translation of the standard.
