In March 2018, the Emirati Agency for Standards and Metrology (ESMA) has included a Spanish entity (Halal Food & Quality) as an accredited Halal certifier. The accreditation of two more (Halal Institute of Córdoba and Halal Consulting) is in the process of being completed, whose certificates are already being accepted for imports of food products to that country.
