Brazil. Regulatory changes for opening branches of foreign companies
The department for registration and integration of Business (DREI), has published lainstrucción Regulation 49/2018, of 2 october that modifies the requirements and criteria for the requests of foreign companies to open branches in the brazilian market, i.e. those that do not have separate legal personality in the matrix (in portuguese called affiliates). It descends into the status of the authority conducting the request and is updated and in order to satisfy the entry into force in Brazil of the apostille Convention, which took place in august 2016.
