Brazil: ANVISA open public consultation for the regulation of disinfectant products

The Collegiate Directorate of the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) has published in the Official Gazette of the Brazilian Union (D.O.U) of last February 12, the Public Consultation 776/2020. This consultation will be open for a period of 60 days, starting the account seven days after its publication in the D.O.U. Disinfectants are products that facilitate the cleaning and conservation of environments (homes, offices, stores, hospitals), but, despite being widely used by the population, they present some risks associated with their use, which is why they are subject to regulation. health carried out by ANVISA.

The Agency acts in the registration and notification of these products, before their marketing, observing quality criteria to guarantee their effectiveness and safety, develops norms and standards and supports the registration of information on health problems caused by disinfectant agents, trying to minimize and avoid the dangers related to these products.
